Are you not sleeping well and feeling tired or run down as a result? Have you decided that you will never again find yourself, lying on the floor in the fetal position sweating and writhing in pain, as your body tries to digest the bad food that you earlier enjoyed.
If you said "yes" to any of these questions, then you have just gotten the message. The message is "NO" and the message is coming from your body. Your body is saying, "No more bad food."
Imagine what would happen if you were to dump a handful of dirt into your car's fuel tank everyday...pretty soon your car would begin running badly and eventually it would not run at all. Your body and your car are both very sensitive to the fuel you give them. Would you purposely dump a handful of dirt into your car's fuel system? I sure hope not!
Okay, now that your body has sent you a message, and you have gotten it, what kind of fuel should you fill up on? Simply put, your body needs foods that provide proteins, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, water and a little bit of fat. Fast food, processed food, and frozen meals will not provide the fuel your body needs.
You cannot fool your body, it wants good natural food, not junk food and supplements. So, if the bad effects of fast food have got you down here are some ideas for how you can bounce back quickly and easily.
Idea #1 - Food Pyramid. Google up "Food Pyramid" and copy the image and post it on your refrigerator. The food pyramid will show you all of the foods that should be in your diet and in your refrigerator.
Idea #2 - Plan meals in advance. Planning meals in advance will save you money, reduce waste, and will discourage you from going to the drive through for bad fast food.
Idea #3 - New Healthy Recipes. If you have no ideas of your own on how to prepare healthy meals then consider getting a recipe book or two. There are many recipe books that will give you easy to follow instructions on how to make quick, healthy, tasty dishes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even dessert.
Many recipe books target people looking for low fat high carb diets and those with a very active lifestyle. Recipes for express meals are fantastic for those cooking for themselves only. There are recipe books for every type of food you can imagine, and many fit into the food pyramid.
Idea #4 - Skip The Drive Through and Brown Bag It. Now that you have your food pyramid posted, and your refrigerator is full of good healthy foods just waiting for you to prepare using your new recipe ideas, you can begin packing your own lunch...brown bag it. You can save time and money by packing your lunch, it will taste better and it will be better for you.
You dont have to wait in line at the drive through for a breakfast sandwich because you now have the ingredients and the recipes to prepare quick, tasty, breakfast meals right at home or in the office.
Idea #5 - Get On A Schedule. Your body has a clock. Your body loves to eat and sleep at the same time everyday. When you combine the right nutrition at regular intervals, the results are amazing.
Idea #6 - Abstain From Using Supplements or Diet Pills (unless prescribed by a doctor). Supplements and diet pills can wreak havoc with your metabolic rate, this is why most people who lose weight using these substances end up gaining it back quickly. If you are eating the right foods you will no longer need to waste your money on supplements, pills, powders, etc...eat three well balanced meals a day along with regular exercise and you will feel great.
Idea #7 - Exercise Every Day. Exercise at least thirty minutes every day. Once you are getting the right nutrition you will have plenty of energy to to walk, run, swim, dance, ride a bike, or do jumping jacks...anything you like. There is no replacement for exercise.
Well, If you are one of those people who have hit fast food rock bottom, you now have a few ideas on what you can do to begin feeling normal again. As soon as you begin eating right, you will have more energy, your appetite will return to normal, you will digest food better, and you will sleep better. All of those who travel down the fast food highway long enough will crash, it cannot be avoided.
Eventually, we all find that the old saying "you are what you eat" is absolutely and literally true.
